Greetings

Greetings. (Monumental first entry btw) I think I have this journaling, blogging feature mostly working so I’m going to start using it. Especially since I have names to drop! Hanging out (Okay, I was really “working” an overtime gig) at the SxSW Interactive party last night I bumped into my buddies Tex and doppler who introduced me to Larry Ewing; the artist responsible for Tux, and Don Marti; the new Editor in King of Embedded Linux Journal. How cool is that? Wait, don’t answer yet; there was free food and coffee too!

Okay, on to the apologies: I have this lovely floating xterm window thing that should apear to be hovering over the upper right hand corner of the page, of course it only works in very standards compliant browsers. In fact it has to be totally hidden from some browsers. Bah. Anyhow, it looks so cool in mozilla I’m keeping it no matter how it looks in your browser. Speaking of which the logo is a PNG, it probably looks like hell in your browser too. Sorry, but GIF’s are the tool of the devil. Also it’s too large, but that’s my fault. It’s like the old “kernel-jacker” scam wherein one submits a truly egregious and halfhearted patch to fix his pet bug, immediately drawing out a sleeping army of wizards that will fix the long ignored problem before they will eat or sleep again. Anyway, I’m hoping this candy-colored, too-big, alpha-rended logo will draw some of my more artistic friends out of the woodwork.

The only real “content” I have up today is the GutenPalm page, and it turns out they changed the name to “Weasel Reader” while I wasn’t looking. I don’t feel like breaking out sed right now, so if you check it out just ‘s/GutenPalm/Weasel Reader/g’ in your head for me, okay. Thanks.
