declaratorily clean

Well, I guess Spear-chucker and I are declaratorily clean today and so you monkeys can officially quit treating us like second-class pariahs. Yes “second-class pariahs”, you heard me. Eta.
This has definitely made me more sensitive. I suppose I’ll go have a good cry now.

It’s Abigail’s birthday, dbaker’s birthday, and, I think, Alfred Hitchcock’s birthday. Mad props to all of them!

web of trust

Key signing and tacos tonight at the cowhouse. Let’s build that web of trust and abuse our gastrointestinal systems! Bring your key fingerprints and maybe some ice cream.

I replaced the shocks and struts on the cabrio yesterday and now it’s sitting up like a monster truck. I hear that they need about 100 miles to “settle”. We’ll see.

Spearster and I did the dreadmill

Spearster and I did the dreadmill portion of our physical assessment yesterday and did so well that Dr. Weekes gave us both hats!

I’m feeling hyper-sensitive to sarcasm lately. Someone will say something perfectly innocent and I immediately think “What does he mean by that?”
It may be only a symptom of my greater paranoia, but I’m afraid it might get to be a problem.

Go Lance!

If you feel that your aren’t wasting enough time online I suggest you sit back and read www.thingsmygirlfriendandihavearguedabout.com. TheCougar turned me on to it the other day.
Hilarious. Unless it’s true.

Now make up that time by reading hoyhoy’s article on fighting spam. Pretty nice overview of his personal setup with examples.

Go Lance!

bx2fest

I installed bx2fest on another machine the other day and realized that the test script for Local-Irclog-Bitchx was b0rken. So that’s fixed. bx2fest itself still dumps on startup sometimes, but I still haven’t gotten irritated enough to figure out why.

IMAX

Mrs. Bumper and the kids and I all stopped in to watch the IMAX® movies at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum the other day. It was our first IMAX® experience.
One of the shows was a commercial for Texas and was produced by a guy I kind of know. The other one was, apparently, a commercial for the Porsche Cayenne. Probably the strangest advertisment I’ve ever paid to see, but it was still pretty good. I think my four year old girl didn’t even know it was a Porsche commercial until it got a little too heavy-handed near the end.

cake school

Mmmmmm. Mom brought her first project from cake school home tonight. Yay!

Tomorrow I go back to class for two days to get checked out on the new report entry system. (whee) It has to be better than what we’re using now.
Also, it’s good for me because I really never got a chance to use the old one and am not too familiar with it anyway. Now, the one we had before that, wherein the cops scribbled a few lines on a form and some ladies upstairs typed it in as best they could, was pure genius.
I got an email from the evidence lady the other day asking if she could dispose of some property from a 1992 case. I remembered the case when I pulled it up because there was the damsel in distress, shooting, running, heroic lifesaving, furniture destruction, and a huge fight for the shotgun to top it all off. My whole report was one paragraph that said something like “Mumpha Blumfa was arrested and booked into jail for discharging a firearm in a municipality with a population over 100k.”
Seems funny to read about it that way.

In-service school

In-service school today and tomorrow. I lived through Cultural Diversity and ADA today so I may muster the strength to get up again in the morning. I bet tomorrow is going to be all about better ways to put bad guys in jail. Hahahaha.

Jury Selection

Mrs. Bumper went to Jury Selection today. We are all very proud of her performance; but alas, she wasn’t chosen. She did bring me home six crisp U.S. dollars though. Thanks Hon’!

Ugh. TXDave lost his dad today. Our prayers are for him and his family.

My cousin MadDog

My cousin MadDog is in town so watch out! Cousin MadDog is danger and horror and frighteningness personified. She’s one tough chick.
If you’ve heard the MadDog stories and always wanted to see her this is your chance.
