The Medrano Christmas show and party was wonderful again this year. If you weren’t invited to the show, and chances are good you weren’t, I feel for you. I laughed, I cried, I used muscles I didn’t even know I had. I hear there may be another show this year, but don’t try to coattail in on me, I can’t help you.
Insomnia struck and I decided to check the logs: It turns out Modesto Junior College is still ripping me off. Stay tuned for updates!
So I was all set to play a couple of sets with deek at Dave and Buster’s for the Texas Association of Hostage Negotiators conference when I got a SWAT call. When I say all set, I mean on stage, guitars tuned, amp warmed, right arm in the windmill position…
I feel pretty bad for leaving deekster hanging, but I’m only part of that show for my looks anyway. 🙂
I have a few pictures from the debriefing.
I was teaching at UT today and I promised the class I would post some fun links for them here.

I was listening to the radio the other morning on my way home from work and the man was lamenting about how hard life is for children. “Just imagine”, he said, “if adults had to go to work and deal with constant emotional abuse and the threat of physical harm from their coworkers!”. Of course this made me laugh so hard I almost ran off the road.
Man I miss the team…
If all your friends were jumping on the RSS bandwagon, would you? Thanks to a little prodding from gregh; lowdrag.org is now feeding the RSS. If you’re using a recent version of firefox you should see a little orange RSS button on the browser window: Clicking on that thing should give one the option to subscribe to this feed or even the photo gallery feed. gregh set up syndication on lj, if You read that way, and there is a plethora of other methods out there.
Speaking of gregh I almost forgot about my claim to be the first person to write a minilink.org meta-app. It’s a thing that turns a tinyurl link into either a regular url or directly into a minilink url. It’s just to ease the transition to a minilink.org-dominated future. tiny2mini~
I have these wasps living in a streetlight in my yard. It’s pretty high, and they haven’t bothered anyone, but on principle I thought I should kill them. Mrs. Bumper brought me some long-distance wasp killing aerosol spray but I was a little short of being able to hit those things. My first try was to haul out the ladder and climb up to the nota step (I think “nota” is Spanish for “step”). Well, I was still not quite making it. So, in a fit of Worse is Better engineering I rigged up a wasp-spray “bang pole” using tape and the leg from a model rocket launch pad, climbed the ladder and gave those wasps a … light misting. In the end I think I made them all mildly lethargic.

Hidden Agenda has out real, shrink-wrapped for your protection, CDs of Music That Hurts and Topographic Pictures of the Crimson Lamb’s Tears. I don’t know where one might obtain one of these beauties, but when I find out I’ll call you on the phone.
deek moore’s (He’s kind of like Prince or Madonna, but his hook is he never capitalizes his name) new CD is reportedly out, but I haven’t seen it and I don’t know how one might get that one either.
gregh (that’s not capitalized either, but for a different reason) has, for the good of society, made minilink.org. It’s like TinyURL.com, but with the feature that it preserves the base url and file extension. This makes for a little longer url, but anything under 72ish chars is short enough, and I think it’s worth it to have some idea what one is requesting. Yay gregh!
