This weekend

This weekend I’m playing at Stubb’s in a band that’s playing right before The Derailers. That’s not the official site. I’ll give you the official site, but not before I warn you that it’s flash and plays music (argh). Okay, you’ve been warned here’s the official SonyNashville site: Caution!. I’m also playing in a band that’s playing right before the band that’s playing right before The Derailers. This band has neither website nor name, but it includes my boy Deke and the the soul of Austin’s own Gravity Test; Tony and Barton.
Sunday I’ll be Rappelling from the ceiling of Great Hills Baptist Church. Two shows, 0830 and 1045 CDT.

Inspiron 7.5k, 466 Mhz Celeron

My favorite computer seems to be dying. It’s an Inspiron 7.5k, 466 Mhz Celeron. The specs seem a little tired nowadays, but that big screen at 1400×1050 made it a very comfortable laptop to me. 6 xterms per workspace with space to spare. -Well, space for something really skinny. It still runs just fine, just doesn’t always communicate with the kbd and monitor. -Not a good trait for a laptop, but dying this way has given me the luxury of making sure I have everything important backed up before I try any drastic lifesaving measures.

I was just re-reading a little article hoyhoy wrote about drummers. I was listening to a little Bela Fleck today and I thought it was hoyhoy: Maybe that doesn’t say anything about my ability to discern drummers, but I don’t remember ever trying before.
