Roger Mayer Axis Fuzz

pedalboardI stopped off to see my boy Casey at Strait and ended up with the Roger Mayer Axis Fuzz. It took me a while to make room for it on the board, and then a little longer to make up cable, but that thing is the bomb.
I haven’t quite settled on an order, but that shown in the picture is probably pretty close to just the opposite of the way I want it. I definitely want the delay/reverb stuff near the end of the line. I like the tube overdrive after the Vision Wah, that thing really does some cool things when the input changes. I’d like to see how the wah reacts to the hotter input of having the Axis Fuzz on the input side.
Once I decide I’m really going to clean up those cords. Really.

super cool

I already mentioned that I got to play with hoyhoy, and it was super cool. But the rest of the story is that hoyhoy’s uncle from Columbus plucked an mp3 from that night and added bass. It’s like magic, man. Since we didn’t have a bass player at the time I didn’t feel realy constrained by such things as keys and structures so I find it pretty amazing that he was able to do anything with it. Check it.

In other music news, Kahl came to play with me and my cop band friends Sunday. No recordings made, you’ll have to trust me, that cat swings.

I’ve been a little remiss about updates here, but I’ve got Duane McNeill’s campaign site up and running. I’m doing my best to keep it w3c compliant, which is actually not so bad now that I’m getting used to it. I just have to live with the fact that it’s going to look boring in certain non-standards-compliant browsers. But really, how many people could that affect?
